Mälzer's Masterclass – Hit or Flop?
I was quite skeptical at first, the next cooking show with Mälzer, a self-promotion show, the best chef ever is now coaching other chefs who haven't found themselves yet, including his former head chef, well.
But there's something about the show that makes you watch one episode after another and then wonder who will make it to the finale, maybe it's the numerous guest chefs like Andreas Caminada, Gennaro Contaldo, The Duc Ngo or Lucki Maurer – only Alexander Herrmann and Roland Trettl were missing.
The entertainment is good, what's a little lacking is the learning effect, especially when there's a lot of coaching, what can foodies and hobby cooks take away besides the entertainment – and why is it an elimination competition, why aren't all participants coached through, like in a training course, and the winner determined at the end..?
